Our Favorite Places to Drink Local Wine

Discover the refined taste of Sonoma County wine! Luckily for you, Inn on the Russian River is situated amongst world-class wineries and tasting rooms - and we’ve done the legwork to find the best places to sit back and relax and enjoy the perfect glass of wine.

Within a 15 minute drive

Want to try diverse local wines without driving too far? These tasting rooms are the perfect place!

Sophie’s Cellars, Duncans Mills

Our favorite place to hang out on a sunny afternoon, this wine shop specializes in limited-production Sonoma County wines and is perfect for those wanting to check out either Jenner or Bodega Bay, since it’s conveniently on the way!

Hang out on the patio while listening to live music, enjoy small bites like cheese and crackers, and get to the know the small village of Duncans Mills.

Equality Vines, Guerneville

This bustling tasting room in the heart of Guerneville is a favorite for both locals and tourists. Plus, you’ll be supporting a great cause! For every release of Equality Vines wine, they partner with an organization dedicated to equality by making per-bottle cash donations directly to that organization.

Stop by their tasting room discover their amazing portfolio of wines. Reservations recommended but not required.

A little Farther Out

Within a 20-30 minute drive, these wineries are the perfect for tasting and eating your way through Sonoma County.

Korbel Winery, Guerneville

On your way to Santa Rosa, the dreamy Korbel Winery is a great spot to stop for lunch at their deli, and to taste some of their famous bubbles! No reservations needed here if you don’t want a tour of the grounds, but a tour leaves every hour if you do!

Russian River Vineyards, Forestville

Voted the best tasting room in Sonoma County in 2022, you don’t want to miss out on discovering this small but amazing vineyard. Relax on their outdoor patio or under their heated areas while enjoying a full menu of tasty delights, refreshing wine, and live music.

Pro Tip: When it’s sunny, we recommend walking the West County Regional Trail to Russian River Vineyards. You can start the trail at the Forestville downtown park, and walk (or bike!) along the paved trail for about 20 minutes before coming to the back gate of Russian River Vineyards. Look for the sign that says “ENTER HERE” with a big arrow. Don’t be shy if the gate has a chain, let yourselves in and follow the path up to the tasting room, about a 5 walk from the gate.

Paul Mathew Vineyards, Graton

A staff favorite, Paul Mathew wines never disappoint! Stop by their simple tasting room in Graton to try their wines and grab some lunch. The sommeliers are very knowledgeable about their own wines and other local wines, so bring your questions! Both inside and outside seating is available.
